Hello there. This is a site featuring writing by Jeremy Gilbert the cultural and political theorist and occasional political activist / commentator. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with the much more popular Jeremy Gilbert, fictional TV vampire.
This is a place to bring together various bits of writing that are otherwise scattered around the digital and hard-copy publishing universes. It also features some actual blog posts i.e. things that are too immediate, responsive or incoherent to be punished as proper articles.
The idea and inspiration for the site came from Richard Hawkins, as did some really invaluable advice about how to go about implementing it. Enormous thanks, Richard!

Hello. I really enjoy your writing and would loved to have attended your “Free Course! Introduction to Cultural Studies: Culture, Technology & Power” but see it has already passed. I also saw that the school has now moved from London to Kent. Have you any plans to hold more of these classes/workshops in London? Or can you recommend anything similar held in London? It’s purely for my personal expansion so I do not wish to enrol in a university degree or anything as committed as that. So this kind of weekly casual class/lecture with readings sounds ideal. My email address is emma_albury@hotmail.com. Thank you very much.
Hi Emma. The course itself was only ever hosted by OSE (who have now moved to Kent). There is an equivalent course happening right now – details here http://doomedgallery.tumblr.com/post/164601126132/free-9-week-course-introduction-to-cultural
I’m not teaching on it this term although there may be a part 2 next term which I will teach on.
